World Cup 2022 qualifiers: Niger-Algeria match postponed to October 12

The match of the fourth round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup-2022 (Group A), opposing Niger to Algeria in Niamey, was postponed to October 12, after it was previously scheduled for the eleventh of the same month, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced on Monday.

The Federal Body said on its official website: “The International Federation (FIFA) has changed the holding of Niger-Algeria match as part of the fourth round of FIFA World Cup Qatar-2022 qualifiers, which will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 14:00 at the General Stadium. Sienni Konchi in Niamey, instead of Monday 11.”

In the same context, “FAF” informed that it had submitted a request to delay the start of the third-round match between Algeria and Niger, scheduled for Friday, October 8 at the Martyr “Mustapha Tchaker” stadium in Blida, to 20:00 instead of 17:00, as previously planned.

It is known that FIFA has devoted three dates for the start of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, which are 13:00, 16:00 and 19:00 GMT, giving the freedom to choose the timing for each federation.

It is worth noting that Algeria and Burkina Faso are ranked first in Group A with four points for each team, followed by Niger (3 points) and Djibouti with zero points.
