The Ministry of Health announced the establishment of a health system to provide psychological care for people infected with Covid-19, their families, health professionals and the population in general, especially in light of the alarming and significant increase in the number of infections during the recent period, according to what was announced today, Thursday, in a communiqué issued by the Ministry.
This system includes the formation of “a group of experts in the field of psychological accompaniment in time of disaster (…) in partnership with various concerned sectors and civil society and in cooperation with United Nations bodies, especially the World Health Organization through its office in Algeria,” as well as “establishing contact centers in the provinces to form local systems, accompany them, supervise and evaluate them, while writing a road map for the coming months and even years.”
The Ministry highlighted, “The effort made by the Ministry of Health in the field of health care for patients infected with Covid-19 will be supported by the most appropriate psychological accompaniment possible in order to respond to the suffering of our citizens in this difficult period.”
